Elias Matsakis is the Chicago leader of Holland & Knight's Healthcare and Life Sciences Team. His practice focuses on the representation of physician organizations and health systems in a wide range of matters including integration and alignment transactions. Mr. Matsakis is well-versed in the formation of physician-only Medicare shared savings programs (MSSP) and accountable care organizations (ACO). He advises healthcare providers on ACO strategies and affiliations as well as integration and service line co-management arrangements. For integrated delivery systems, Mr. Matsakis counsels on bundled payment pilots. He is also experienced in the representation of nursing and senior living development mergers and acquisitions. In addition, Mr. Matsakis assists large nonprofit organizations in corporate governance and conflict policies.

Mr. Matsakis' leadership skills are recognized both within the firm and in his community. He currently serves as president of the Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation and is a trustee of the Glenbrook Educational Foundation. Mr. Matsakis recently served as the executive partner of the firm's Chicago office and was a member of the Directors Committee. Additionally, he served six years as the chairman of the District 225 finance committee, a school district of 5,000 students.
