Rebecca L. Mendez is a Miami commercial real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Miami office and a member of the firm's Real Estate practice.
Ms. Mendez focuses her practice on the representation of both institutional and non-institutional commercial real estate lenders, bridge lenders, investors and developers in connection with the financing, acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate assets including retail shopping centers, office buildings, apartment buildings, hotels, warehouse/industrial and mixed-use properties located throughout the United States.
Ms. Mendez also provides representation to both institutional and non-institutional lenders in connection with the origination and securitization of commercial real estate loans.
She also provides representation in connection with a wide variety of complex commercial real estate transactions involving commercial lease negotiation, joint venture acquisitions, property development, community development districts, mortgage-backed securities and property management.
Ms. Mendez also represents institutional lenders in connection with the disposition of distressed real estate assets and distressed loans including loan modifications, workouts and loan sale transactions. She works closely with the special asset and real estate owned (REO) departments at the community banks and other institutional lenders.
Ms. Mendez also provides representation in various pro bono matters dealing with non-profit organizations.
At the Florida International University College of Law, she served as Comments Editor of the FIU Law Review.
