Overview

William Nilson is a Boston real estate and finance attorney who focuses on assisting lenders, buyers, sellers, developers, investors, owners, managers and others with all types of commercial real estate matters. Mr. Nilson also has experience assisting lenders, developers and equity groups on leveraged real estate transactions, including Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)-related transactions, securitized loans, and other forms of finance in the real estate sphere.

In addition to being a summer associate at Holland & Knight during law school, Mr. Nilson was involved in his community in several respects. He served as a legislative intern with the Florida House of Representatives, where he researched topics and drafted memoranda related to bills and interests of the members and staff of the Health and Human Services Committee. Mr. Nilson was elected the deputy speaker for Judicial Affairs of the Florida State University Congress of Graduate Students. He also served as the national anthem singer for Naturalization Ceremonies for new citizens at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

During law school, Mr. Nilson was a member of both the Florida State University Law Review and the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy. He received book awards in legislation and regulation, Florida Constitutional law, federal taxation and business planning.
