Overview
Stephen M. Pennartz is a business attorney in Holland & Knight's Philadelphia office. Mr. Pennartz focuses his practice on employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, executive compensation, employee plans, and health and welfare benefits. Mr. Pennartz has extensive experience guiding companies on the design, drafting and qualification of their employee plans, particularly group health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans, severance plans and voluntary employees' beneficiary associations (VEBAs).
Mr. Pennartz's practice also extends to advising employers and executives on executive compensation and equity-related matters that arise in corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A). In addition, Mr. Pennartz has wide-ranging experience advising clients on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Affordable Care Act (ACA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA).
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Pennartz practiced at a global law firm in Philadelphia, where he focused on corporate transactions and health and welfare benefits matters.
