Representative Experience

  • Assisted in a breach of contract claim where a subcontractor billed our client, the general contractor, nearly $1.3 million for months during which the Navy had stopped all munitions clearance work on a sewer recapitalization project in Guam, then abandoned the job when our client refused to pay; we helped secure a key preliminary contract interpretation ruling and then handled the direct and cross examinations of all fact witnesses at the arbitration hearing; the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arbitration panel awarded our client $3,435,318 plus interest – nearly all the costs it had sought

  • Assisted in resolving a severe personal injury case; the plaintiff in the case was injured while working on the Purple Line project in Maryland and sued our client for alleged negligent design of the roadway construction plans
  • Assisted in defending an individual on a pro bono basis in connection with a car accident case filed against him in West Tennessee; the plaintiff sought significant monetary damages for personal injuries allegedly suffered in the accident; successfully defended the case, winning on entirely procedural points ranging from improper service of process, missed discovery deadlines, and incomplete discovery responses; after obtaining a successful ruling on a motion to compel, our team maintained pressure in discovery which, ultimately, led to the plaintiff non-suiting the case on September 26, 2023

  • Assisted in getting three Afghanistan citizens asylum after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan
