Christopher Slottee is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Anchorage office. He is highly experienced in matters related to Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs), Alaska Native Corporation settlement trusts and tribal governments, having served as vice president and general counsel for an ANC.
As part of his practice, Mr. Slottee handles complex litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in areas involving commercial transactions, construction disputes, employment law, medical and legal malpractice, personal injury, municipal government, insurance bad faith, and ANC and tribal matters. He is well-versed in advising ANCs and their subsidiaries on corporate governance, legal and risk management issues, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate matters.
Mr. Slottee also has a significant background in providing legal and strategic advice, specifically in government contracting, hospitality services, oil field services, telecommunications, risk management, and acquisitions and divestitures. He also provides guidance on the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Section 8(a) Business Development Program and on the establishment and management of Alaska Native Corporation settlement trusts.
Immediately after law school, Mr. Slottee was a law clerk for the Honorable Rene Gonzalez of the Superior Court of Alaska, Third Judicial District. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, he was an associate and then partner at an Anchorage law firm for 14 years before serving three years as vice president and general counsel of an ANC with operations in 33 states and foreign countries.
