Private Wealth and International Capabilities Practice Leader Leigh-Alexandra Basha will co-chair the International Bar Association's Annual Wealth Transfer Practices Conference SWOT for Private Clients in 2010: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats They Face. In addition to co-chairing the conference, Ms. Basha will speak on a panel titled "Trusts Vs. Foundations." Partner Bruce Ross will moderate a panel titled "International Litigation."

Conference topics will include: the benefits and burdens of international treaties relevant to private individuals; the complications of enforcing pre-nuptial agreements after a couple moves jurisdictions; the pros and cons of trusts and foundations; the benefits and pitfalls of private trust companies; private asset ownership structures; and common inter-jurisdictional issues such as will and trust contests, disputes over domicile and governing law, succession conflicts and forced heirship.
