Capitol Hill Investigators, Ga. Officials in Talks to Hand Over Election Docs

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Public Policy & Regulation Partner Christopher DeLacy was quoted in an article by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution which addresses the congressional investigation into alleged voting fraud during Georgia's 2018 election cycle. The reported irregularities include Georgians experiencing challenges registering to vote and barriers to casting their votes. The House Oversight Committee is conducting the investigation and awaits election documents from Georgia government officials.

Mr. DeLacy sites that usually, documents are turned over for a congressional investigation without having to issue a subpoena. He continues, "If a subpoena is issued, that means negotiations have broken down...It's a significant tool the committee can use, but it's a tool of last resort."
