DOT Pick Bolsters Trump's Infrastructure Commitment

President-elect Trump's selection of Elaine Chao to lead the U.S. Department of Transportation has confirmed to many that he intends to follow through on his sweeping infrastructure investment campaign promises. Attorney David Whitestone agrees that the selection of Chao, a serious conservative and experienced federal administrator from both Bush administrations, bodes well for negotiations to increase investments in national transportation.

"The timing is encouraging because it's relatively early in the process, confirming that transportation is indeed a priority of the incoming administration," said Mr. Whitestone. "Further, the selection of Elaine Chao is a masterstroke that will help bind the executive branch and Congress together to implement the president-elect's infrastructure vision."
