Holland & Knight Partner Seth Belzley Ranked Among Denver’s Outstanding "40 Under 40" Business Professionals

DENVER (March 20, 2017) – Holland & Knight Partner Seth Belzley has been named one of the Denver Business Journal's "40 Under 40" for 2017. The honorees were selected from more than 300 nominees based on three criteria: business leadership, recognition of accomplishments and community involvement.

According to the publication, "these individuals represent a promising next generation of Denver leaders – up-and-comers who have already accomplished much, but whose best days in the community are likely ahead of them. They join the ranks of past honorees who have gone on to become CEOs, executive directors and elected officials of the highest order. Simply put, they are the cream of the crop in their respective fields."

Mr. Belzley is a business and public policy attorney with deep roots in the energy industry, including serving as senior vice president and assistant general counsel at TransMontaigne Inc., a Fortune 500 oil pipeline and terminal company based in Denver, prior to entering private practice. He was primarily responsible for commercial transactions, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions in support of the company's businesses in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

At Holland & Knight, Mr. Belzley represents energy infrastructure developers and operators, physical commodities traders, and buyers and sellers of hydrocarbons on a wide variety of commercial and corporate transactions. He advises clients on terminaling, processing and transportation arrangements involving crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and refined petroleum products, marketing activities including compliance with antitrust and competition regulations and trading activities including forward physical contracts, exchange agreements and credit-related matters, as well as matters facing master limited partnerships. He is familiar with the regulatory and public policy issues facing the energy industry across the country and regularly counsels companies and nonprofits on dealing reactively and proactively to them.

In its profile of Mr. Belzley, the Denver Business Journal notes that he was named one of its "Who's Who in Energy" last year and was recently elected a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, an honor extended to only the top third of one percent of Texas attorneys. It also cites his involvement in such important civic organizations as the Denver Scholarship Foundation, the Denver Foundation, Teach for America – Colorado, Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation and Mental Health Colorado.
