LONDON (November 5, 2018) –  Holland & Knight has been named one of the top law firms in the United Kingdom in the areas of asset finance and leasing and aviation by The Legal 500 United Kingdom in its newly released 2018 edition.

Three of the firm's London-based aviation and aircraft finance attorneys were recommended in the asset finance and leasing category. They are Partners Robert Ricketts, Victoria Koob and Gwyn O'Flynn. Mr. Ricketts and Ms. O'Flynn also were recommended in the aviation category, as was Senior Counsel Timothy Murray.

Mr. Ricketts advises banks, leasing companies and airlines on various issues arising from the sale, purchase, leasing, financing, maintenance and mortgaging of aircraft, including the relevant registration procedures. He counsels both established and startup airlines on applicable international law and regulatory issues. Mr. Ricketts acts for several airlines throughout Europe and elsewhere around the world. Recent transactions include the leasing of Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier aircraft by a variety of lessors and the sale of a diverse range of aircraft. He also acts for a number of high-net-worth individuals as well as public and private companies on their aircraft acquisitions and aircraft operations.

Ms. Koob has extensive experience in aviation transactions and is well-versed in cross-border asset finance and leasing structures. She represents leasing companies, international financial institutions and airlines in a broad range of transactions, including export credit-supported financings, multi-aircraft portfolios, leasing, pre-delivery payment (PDP) facilities and fleet purchase contracts.

Ms. O'Flynn concentrates her practice on aircraft transactional work and the commercial aspects of aviation, including aircraft financing, management, leasing, lease novations, purchases and sales. She advises banks, lessors and operators on finance and leasing issues, as well as maintenance and other aviation supplier companies on commercial contracts. She also handles corporate aircraft work.

Mr. Murray represents airlines, leasing companies, airports, business and general aviation operators, and other companies involved in the aviation and travel industries. He has extensive experience in aviation and travel-related dispute resolution matters, often with multi-jurisdictional elements, in the English courts and in arbitrations, including leasing, aircraft finance, insurance, aircraft repossessions, aircraft engineering, technical issues, accidents and general contractual disputes. He also advises on a wide range of regulatory issues, including matters before the European Commission, the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the UK Department for Transport.
