Lawyers Shell Out Record $160M for Midterms, Fatten Dem Coffers

Partner Rich Gold discussed how law firms use law firm PACs and how the party split is determined. According to Bloomberg Law, nearly 80 percent of the $160 million donated to lawyer and law firm PACs for the Midterm election were given to Democrats. Mr. Gold explains how in most instances, law firms will support members in the districts that they have a physical presence and that naturally that means that more incumbents are supported.
“We have always taken the position that we will pretty much reflect whatever the existing split is in Congress between Democrats and Republicans,” Gold said.
