Tysons East Wants to Draw the “Creative Class,” and Get Them to Stay

Tysons Partnership held a panel, moderated by Holland & Knight land use attorney David Schneider, about the Tysons East neighborhood as part of the local development group's "Transforming Tysons" series.

For many, the future of the 18.5 million square-foot neighborhood looks promising. It is already home to the Capital One M2 headquarters and easily accessible via the D.C. Metro system, and the land and infrastructure exists for the development of residential accommodations, public parks and other eye-catching amenities. There has also been a spike in investment over the past few years—with specific plans to attract the 'creative class' from the east and west coasts.

Mr. Schneider said that Tysons East is "a huge experiment in suburban redevelopment at this scale that the entire world is watching."
