Zillow Sued Over Zestimate Display: Making Sense of the Dispute

Online real estate database company Zillow has been hit with an antitrust lawsuit. The dispute claims that the company is hurting competition between real estate brokers with its Zestimates feature. Antitrust attorney David Kully spoke with Inman for his take on the case.

“Because plaintiffs who bring successful antitrust cases can collect treble damages, it is fairly common for companies that believe they are the victim of some business practice they regard to be unfair in some way to try to pursue antitrust claims, even when it is hard to say that any injuries they suffered were caused by a loss of competition. This seems like one of those kinds of cases,” Mr. David Kully said.
