Eyes on Washington: FY 2018 Budget Request

The Trump Administration on May 23, 2017, released a full budget blueprint for FY 2018, titled A New Foundation for American Greatness. The full FY 2018 budget proposal is based on the March 2017 "skinny" budget outline. The budget represents a $4.1 trillion spending plan, and projects $3.65 trillion in revenue collections in 2018.

While the congressional appropriations process will likely ignore and avoid many of the cuts contained in President Donald Trump's request, the proposal serves as a reflection of the White House's priorities and could lead to negotiated cuts in some programs.
