Steven E. Jedlinski is a trial lawyer who has a national practice litigating intellectual property (IP)/technology cases and other complex IP-related disputes in federal courts as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He is experienced in all facets of litigation, and he has managed teams and developed strategies in cases before numerous federal courts across the country. He also has experience in appellate practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) and the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Mr. Jedlinski is a registered patent attorney with the USPTO and has experience in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Whether facing off against industry competitors or Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs), Mr. Jedlinski combines technical knowledge gained while earning his degree in biomedical engineering, extensive litigation experience and practice before the USPTO. He crafts and implements efficient strategies for achieving real business goals. Leading companies in various industries, including medical devices, consumer products, telecommunications, electronics, financial services, hospitality and retail, value Mr. Jedlinski's breadth of knowledge and experience. This has contributed to his successful track record for clients involved in significant patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, unfair competition and false advertising matters, including:

  • defeating a preliminary injunction after discovery in a trade dress and false advertising case
  • winning motions to dismiss for subject matter patent ineligibility at the Rule 12 stage in patent cases
  • receiving a covenant not to sue and voluntary dismissal from a patent owner for no monetary payment after the submission of extensive summary judgment briefing
  • obtaining a consent judgment from a trademark infringer

In addition to his practice, Mr. Jedlinski writes and speaks on IP litigation issues and currently sits on the Advisory Board for Northwestern University's Biomedical Engineering Department. Mr. Jedlinski also was a walk-on, four-year starter and captain of his collegiate soccer team, and he played in Major League Soccer's Reserve League.
