Steven E. Jedlinski is a trial lawyer who has a national practice litigating intellectual property (IP) cases and other complex IP-related disputes in federal courts as well as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He is experienced in all facets of litigation and has managed teams and developed strategies in cases before federal courts across the country, including the Northern District of Illinois, the Eastern District of Texas, the Central District of California, the Western District of Wisconsin, the Southern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. He also has experience in appellate practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) and the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Whether facing off against industry competitors or Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs), Mr. Jedlinski combines technical knowledge gained while earning his degree in biomedical engineering, extensive litigation experience and practice before the USPTO. He crafts and implements efficient strategies for achieving real business goals. Leading companies in various industries, including medical devices, consumer products, telecommunications electronics, financial services, hospitality and retail, value Mr. Jedlinski's breadth of knowledge and experience. This has contributed to his successful track record for clients involved in significant litigation with competitors or against NPEs. Mr. Jedlinski understands the workings of NPEs and the different strategies available to effectively address their claims. Based on his work in this area, Mr. Jedlinski has been chosen as panel counsel in RPXIS' insurance program.

Over the years, Mr. Jedlinski's litigation experience has involved a diverse array of technologies, including wireless protocols, telecommunication systems, bar code scanners, pressure washers, loyalty card programs and other online services. Mr. Jedlinski also handles trademark and trade secret litigation for a diverse collection of clients, including an international cruise line and alcoholic beverage companies.

Mr. Jedlinski is a registered patent attorney with the USPTO and has extensive experience in all aspects of patent and trademark prosecution. He also has experience with strategic patent re-examination proceedings and trademark cancellation/opposition proceedings. He has counseled clients regarding intellectual property portfolio development and strategy, and has experience in due diligence matters and opinion work (e.g., clearance, infringement, validity and patentability analyses) as part of various corporate transactions and investigations. Additionally, Mr. Jedlinski has drafted and negotiated a variety of complex technology agreements, including licensing, manufacturing, supply and nondisclosure. He brings his litigation experience to bear on these transactions.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Jedlinski writes and speaks on IP litigation issues and currently sits on the Advisory Board for Northwestern University's Biomedical Engineering Department. Mr. Jedlinski also was walk-on, four-year starter and captain of his collegiate soccer team, and he played in Major League Soccer's Reserve League.
