Overview

Frank G. Sinatra is a senior counsel in Holland & Knight's New York office. He is responsible for and involved in a broad range of legal matters related to the firm's government representations practice. He also serves as a trustee and examiner in Chapter 11 bankruptcy matters.

Mr. Sinatra has been instrumental in the development of a significant government practice at Holland & Knight, including the representation of New York State agencies in the areas of public finance, power/energy, project development, litigation, real estate, insurance, transportation and labor/employment law. In this regard, the firm's broad array of specialty practice areas have been deployed on behalf of N.Y. State and its quasi-public authorities in significant matters including asset privatizations, real estate restructurings and dispositions, ground leases, bankruptcies, investigations and litigations.

In addition, Mr. Sinatra serves as an advocate for the business and regulatory interests of the firm's national client base in N.Y. State and City. He is a member of Holland & Knight's N.Y. State Political Action Committee and manages the firm's relationship with NY State.

While attending law school, Mr. Sinatra served as a Legislative Assistant on the staff of U.S. Senator Alfonse M. D'Amato in Washington, D.C., with primary responsibility for legislative issues before the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. Thereafter, he served as a Special Assistant in the Senator's New York City office overseeing projects, grants, state, local and community affairs.

Subsequently, Mr. Sinatra served as general counsel to a business crisis management firm, the principals of which served alternatively as Chapter 11 trustee in bankruptcy and in various executive capacities in distressed business entities. In this role, Mr. Sinatra oversaw the day-to-day affairs of numerous and diverse businesses, the disposition of assets, the sale of businesses as going concerns and the settlement and/or litigation of resulting claims. Mr. Sinatra first served as a Chapter 11 trustee in 1988 and has continued to be active in the bankruptcy arena as a trustee and examiner in complex matters. A significant portion of this work has been international in scope.

In the community, Mr. Sinatra assists numerous not-for-profit and community development organizations with respect to government relations and strategic development initiatives.
