Mexico Breathes Sigh of Relief Over US Nafta Objectives

The U.S. Trade Representatives are renegotiating the idea of continuing tariff-free trade across North America. Attorney Carlos Véjar shares some insight on how this is a step in the right direction and is great news for the Mexican government.

“This is very positive," said Mr. Véjar. "It deals with many of the fears of Mexican officials, particularly on going back to a tariff system between the US, Mexico, and Canada. It’s clear the US does not want to move back to tariffs.”
