Cuba-Focused Lawyers Weigh Implications of Castro's Death

How will the death of iconic figure Fidel Castro affect Cuba? Latin America Practice Attorney Andres Fernandez remarks that, as of now, the effects are ambiguous.

"Sometimes events like this can be a catalyst to profound changes, but whether this is one of those events and what kind of changes might be forthcoming would be purely speculative at this point," said Mr. Fernandez. "The state of the law today is what it was last Friday...The death of Fidel Castro, although obviously monumental from a historical perspective, will likely not, at least initially, have any direct impact on U.S./Cuba legal issues."
