Holland & Knight Begins Representation of Israel’s U.S. Consulates

WASHINGTON (April 24, 2019) – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that the firm has been retained by the State of Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to represent all of Israel's diplomatic and consular missions in the U.S.

In this role, a team of Holland & Knight attorneys will provide basic legal services to Israel's nine consulates in the U.S. They are located in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington.

Holland & Knight partner Meital Stavinsky will lead the firm's representation of the consulates, making sure the Israeli government's needs are met by an extensive and evolving team of attorneys.

An Israeli-American, Ms. Stavinsky has spent more than a decade advising innovative Israeli businesses that seek to enter the U.S. market or expand their operations in the U.S. She also successfully advocates on behalf of leading innovative Israeli tech companies in raising their profile and advancing their goals before the U.S. Congress and key U.S. federal agencies, most recently in connection with the 2018 Farm Bill.

"We are honored to have the opportunity to represent the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the U.S.," Ms. Stavinsky said. "Our firm has an established office in every consulate location and lawyers with decades of experience working with Israeli businesses in the U.S. These assets will allow us to provide the highest level of service to the Ministry."

In 2018, Ms. Stavinsky helped create a Women in AgriTech group in Israel to provide networking opportunities for women in the agritech field and empower them to advance professionally. She serves as an advisory board member of IN2, an accelerator in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Wells Fargo Bank. She also participates in the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the American Jewish Committee.

Holland & Knight's Israel Practice regularly advises Israeli clients operating in the United States and in Latin America, as well as companies and investors doing business in Israel, on a wide range of legal issues. Members of the team have a deep understanding of the Israeli marketplace and assist clients in identifying and maximizing investor and market opportunities.
