Holland & Knight Expands Intellectual Property Practice on East Coast

NEW YORK/STAMFORD, Conn. (March 21, 2016) – Holland & Knight has expanded its intellectual property practice on the East Coast with the addition of Partners Grace Pan and Dawn Rudenko Albert, who will reside in the firm's New York and Stamford offices, respectively. Previously, Ms. Pan was a partner with Orrick, and Ms. Rudenko Albert was with Dickstein Shapiro.

Ms. Pan is an intellectual property counselor and litigator, with a focus on patent disputes. She represents clients from the United States and Asia. She is a registered foreign lawyer in Japan, one of only a few U.S. lawyers so qualified, and in Taiwan. Ms. Pan has practiced before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and International Trade Commission, as well as before federal district and appellate courts. She has broad experience in all phases of Japanese litigation and has opposed efforts to invalidate patents in both Japan and Taiwan.

Ms. Rudenko Albert's practice covers a wide range of intellectual property areas, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights. She has represented clients at bench and jury trials, as well as on appeal. She also assists on the intellectual property aspects of transactional matters such as M&A intellectual property due diligence, contract negotiation and licensing, and will work closely with the group of corporate and M&A lawyers who joined Holland & Knight in February from her former firm to open the new Stamford office.

"Grace and Dawn represent an exciting opportunity to further grow and develop our IP litigation practice," said Joshua Krumholz, the leader of Holland & Knight's Intellectual Property Group. "Grace's substantial experience in Japan, China and Taiwan will be invaluable to our clients with legal needs in those countries, and her contacts in Asia among companies with extensive U.S. patent litigation and other corporate work should be of great benefit to the firm. And, as a key member of our Stamford team, Dawn will play a critical role in maintaining strong relationships with its clients and is an important strategic hire for us."

Holland & Knight has added three intellectual property partners since the beginning of this year. In addition to Ms. Pan and Ms. Rudenko Albert, patent litigator Merri Moken joined the firm late last month in the New York office.
