Holland & Knight Honored with Bank of America’s Top Diversity and Inclusion Award

MIAMI (May 15, 2019) – Holland & Knight received the seventh Diversity and Inclusion Award from Bank of America's Legal Department during a reception in Charlotte on May 8. Given annually by the bank, the award recognizes law firms' commitment to diversity and inclusion, which attracts and retains the best and brightest talent.

More than 200 law firms were considered by the bank's Diversity and Inclusion Business Council (DIBC) for the 2019 award. Holland & Knight was one of five firms invited to an in-depth interview by the DIBC. In selecting Holland & Knight for the prestigious honor, the bank noted the firm's years of focused attention on the training, development, and promotion of diverse attorneys, and its strong track record of staffing Bank of America matters with diverse legal teams.

During the reception, Amy Littman, executive sponsor of the DIBC and Deputy General Counsel, spoke favorably of Holland & Knight's commitment to diversity throughout its ranks. She noted its support of diversity pipeline efforts, bias training, and mentoring for the firm's diverse attorneys.

The firm has also been recognized for its innovative professional development programs, such as the award-winning Rising Stars program for women and the recently-launched HK Emerging Leaders program for senior associates and senior counsel. Last year, the firm received "Mansfield Rule Certified Plus" status. In addition, the firm's last two partnership classes were more than 50% diverse.

"We are honored to be recognized by a longtime client for our ongoing efforts to create a diverse and inclusive workplace," said Holland & Knight managing partner Steven Sonberg. "Through its diversity programs, Bank of America leads by example. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with them in this important area."
