Holland & Knight’s William R. Lane Jr. Becomes Chair of Florida Bar Tax Section

TAMPA (August 3, 2016) – William R. Lane Jr., a partner in Holland & Knight’s Tampa office, has become chair of The Florida Bar Tax Section. He will serve as chair until June 30, 2017. The Florida Bar Tax Section has more than 2,000 members.

Mr. Lane previously served as director of the Tax Section’s long range planning committee, federal tax division and education division.

Mr. Lane works primarily in the areas of estate planning, family business succession planning, estate and trust administration, and resolution of disputes involving trusts, estates, their fiduciaries and beneficiaries. He served on The Florida Bar’s drafting committees for the Florida Trust Code, the Florida Power of Attorney Act and the Florida Revised Limited Liability Company Act.

Mr. Lane is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is consistently recognized as a leading tax attorney by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. Mr. Lane earned his J.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and earned his Master of Laws LL.M. degree from the University of Florida College of Law.
