Beware The Ghost Of Antitrust's Past

The role of antitrust enforcement has evolved over time since the "Chicago School," which was driven by economic research. Companies that provide a broad selection of goods, quality products and services at a low price tend to maintain the loyalty of their customers. Large companies such as Amazon, offer a variety of products for sale- both physical and digital, have made Amazon one of the most innovative companies in the world. Amazon's market power might cause them to face antitrust scrutiny for their market power, which alters their competition. The government must continue to intervene with consumer welfare, otherwise high market concentration and reduced competition can negatively impact a growing economy.
