Senior Counsel Nneka Obioyoke wrote an article for the Energy Law Advisor titled "Responding with Empathy: How You Can Support Your BIPOC Colleagues in the Wake of Racially Motivated Aggression." Ms. Obioyoke discusses a March 2022 shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York, that killed 10 Black people. The article provides helpful insight into how people in the workplace can provide support to employees within the affected racial or ethnic groups after race based aggression takes place. By being intentional about showing support and empathy to others in times of need, we can contribute to a happier, healthier and more productive work environment for our BIPOC colleagues and everyone else too.
