Tribal General Welfare Exclusion Proposed Regulations Are an Overdue Win for Indian Country
Native American Law and Tax attorneys Kenneth Parsons and Rachel Provencher co-authored an article featured by The Journal of Federal Agency Action examining proposed regulations from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and IRS concerning the Tribal General Welfare Exclusion Act of 2014. The regulations incorporate several priorities of Indian Country, notably granting significant deference to Tribes in developing and executing general welfare exclusion (GWE) programs.
