Settlement Reached in Haiti PM Defamation Case

Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe settled the defamation claims filed against Leo Joseph, a journalist who was previously barred from every writing about the prime minster again. Media Law Partner Scott Ponce represented Mr. Joseph in the case and says his client is very happy with the settlement.

"Mr. Joseph showed great courage in standing up for his rights against a well-financed head of state who was attempting to silence the free and independent press' criticism of the Haitian government," Mr. Ponce said.
