A New Risk Factor in Corporate Disclosures: Active Shooters

With a rise in fatalities in mass public shootings over the past several years, public companies have begun adding language to their annual reports warning investors about how gun violence could impact their financial performance.

Labor, Employment and Benefits Attorney Paul Lannon advises companies on these workplace issues. Mr. Lannon commented on the increased attention being given to these security measures, saying, "As [shootings] become more prevalent, the priority starts to increase."
