Trump Win Assures Halt to Biden's Enviro Priorities
Law360
Public Policy & Regulation attorney Dimitri Karakitsos was quoted in a Law360 article about the potential environmental policy shifts under a second Trump Administration. The article explored how a Trump win could lead to significant changes in climate change policies, environmental justice initiatives and the government's approach to water, chemical and other regulations. Mr. Karakitsos provided insights on what Biden-Era policies could be curtailed or reversed under the incoming administration.
"I expect a pretty significant pullback, both internationally and domestically," he said. "The former president has been very critical of a lot of the international agreements like the Paris Climate Accord, for example. And there are questions around the legality of some of the [Biden Administration's] domestic policies. We saw a pretty significant shift from Obama's Administration to Trump's first, and I expect to see a very similar shift from the Biden Administration to Trump's second."
