Holland & Knight Partner Greg Meeder Elected President of the Chicago Building Congress
Chicago – April 14, 2011 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Greg Meeder, a Partner in the firm's Chicago office, has been elected President of the Chicago Building Congress. The Chicago Building Congress is one of the most active construction trade associations in Illinois. Meeder will begin his two-year term of office in June.
The Chicago Building Congress was created before World War II with the mission of providing continuing education and networking opportunities to the varied members of Chicago's building industry. Its varied membership includes real estate professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, engineering firms, architects, labor unions, associations, government entities, banks, insurance providers, consultants, law firms, accounting firms, media publications, material manufacturers, and suppliers. It is the only vertically-integrated trade association serving the Chicago area.
Meeder practices with the national Construction Industry Practice Group and is the Regional Construction Practice Group Leader for the Midwest. He is also a member of the American Arbitration Association Industry Panel of Neutrals, acting as an arbitrator in construction disputes. His legal career has focused on complex construction litigation and the representation of public owners, property developers, underground contractors, construction companies, commercial banks, corporations, partnerships, title insurance companies, and individuals with regard to multi-million dollar litigation matters.
