Three Holland & Knight Lawyers Given Award for Excellence By Chicago Chapter of Federal Bar Association for Pro Bono Service
Chicago - (May 24, 2013) - Michael Grill, Richard Winter and Maureen Schoaf of Holland & Knight were honored for pro bono service yesterday in a ceremony at the U.S. District Court. This was the 14th Annual Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Awards, sponsored by the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
The three lawyers received the awards as a result of representations they had as pro bono matters. A Holland & Knight associate had nominated them for their work. Mr. Grill responded to a summary judgment motion and filed an appeal to the Seventh Circuit on behalf of a woman in a discrimination suit. Mr. Winter and Ms. Schoaf represented the father of a child in an evidentiary hearing and through an extensive post-hearing process to have the child returned to Mexico where she lived with him.
