MIAMI (April 26, 2018) – Holland & Knight has been named one of the top 10 female friendly law firms by Yale Law Women. In addition to its inclusion in the Top 10 list, Holland & Knight was honored as one of the firms at which women make up at least 50 percent of associates.
The "Top 10 Female Friendly Firms" list is based on a survey of the law firms ranked in the Vault Law 100. Yale Law Women collected data on indicators of gender equality such as partnership promotions, the composition of leadership committees, and training and mentorship. In addition to examining formal policies, the survey investigated how firms implemented those policies and whether attorneys used them. Law firm responses were weighted based on a concurrent survey of more than 350 Yale Law School alumni of all genders currently working at Vault 100 firms.
"Holland & Knight strives to promote a work environment that encourages the recruitment, retention and advancement of our women partners and associates," said Steven Sonberg, managing partner. "We are pleased that our efforts and success have been recognized by the Yale Law Women."
"We work hard to enhance the professional opportunities for our women lawyers and to prepare them for partnership and leadership positions within the firm," said Judy Nemsick, national chair of Holland & Knight's Women's Initiative. "We are proud to have our accomplishments recognized, but know that we can do even better."
Yale Law Women works to advance the status of women at Yale Law School and in the legal profession at large. To realize this mission, it creates programming, resources and mentorship opportunities to bolster women's pursuit of their professional and personal goals.
