National Black Lawyers Names Kyrus Freeman to Its List of Top 100 Lawyers in District of Columbia
WASHINGTON (October 9, 2019) – Holland & Knight Partner Kyrus Freeman has been selected by The National Black Lawyers, a professional and educational organization comprised of the nation’s premier African American attorneys, for inclusion in its list of Top 100 Lawyers in the District of Columbia.
In making the announcement, The National Black Lawyers stated, "With his selection, Mr. Freeman has proven that he exemplifies superior qualifications, leadership skills and case results."
Membership in the Top 100 Lawyers is by invitation only and is limited to 100 attorneys in each state or region who have demonstrated excellence and have achieved outstanding results in their legal careers. The selection process is based on a multi-phase process which includes peer nominations and third-party research.
Mr. Freeman focuses on land use, zoning and municipal law and is a LEED AP attorney. He advises property owners and residential, commercial, hotel and mixed-use developers in the regulatory and approval process, as well as representing them in litigation matters such as appeals of Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment orders and appeals of building permits and certificates of occupancy.
An adjunct professor at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, Mr. Freeman lectures extensively on zoning, land use and sustainable development issues. He also frequently speaks at programs designed to foster diversity in the legal profession and to enhance the career development of students and young attorneys.
