Overview

Christopher A. Bailey is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas and Houston offices, where he focuses his practice on bankruptcy and restructuring law. Mr. Bailey represents debtors and creditors in complex corporate reorganizations and bankruptcy litigation throughout the U.S.

Mr. Bailey's experience includes representing financially distressed entities across various industries, including healthcare, real estate, aviation and energy. In the energy industry, he advises upstream and midstream oil and gas companies and counterparties, energy lenders and private equity groups that specialize in distressed energy acquisitions. In the healthcare industry, Mr. Bailey advises distressed healthcare providers on restructuring opportunities.

Representative Experience

  • Represented an institutional real estate investment fund, as landlord, in connection with the Chapter 11 cases of an airplane manufacturer regarding a Mexican production facility utilized by U.S. domiciled debtors through a non-debtor shelter company in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware
  • Represented one of the world's largest media licensing companies in connection with Chapter 11 cases of a major party and costume retailer in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas
  • Represented a major financial institution as prepetition secured lender and post-petition lender and agent in Chapter 11 cases of a timeshare development company in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey
  • Represented an alternative asset manager in its capacity as securitization facility agent and lender in connection with the Chapter 11 cases of an international consumer finance company that restructured approximately $1 billion in debt
  • Represented the administrative agent for a third lien lender in connection with Chapter 11 cases of a national retailer of home goods
  • Represented a large upstream mineral producer in its Chapter 11 case
  • Represented numerous senior living facilities in Chapter 11 cases
  • Represented a large financial institution as senior secured lender in connection with a prepackaged Chapter 11 case
  • Represented significant predecessors-in-title in the bankruptcy cases of Cox Operating LLC and its affiliates
  • Represented numerous estate fiduciaries during the wind-down of certain bankruptcy estates
  • Represented secured creditors in connection with the Chapter 11 cases of numerous large upstream mineral producers
  • Represented a hospital system's chief executive officer with respect to prefiling bankruptcy issues
  • Represented various aircraft lessors in the Chapter 11 cases of numerous international airlines
