Overview
Claire A. Bjerke is an attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Ms. Bjerke focuses her practice on high-stakes complex commercial litigation.
Ms. Bjerke has experience representing clients in connection with real estate, capital markets, securities, foreclosure, white collar, bankruptcy and appellate litigation, as well as government and regulatory investigations. She has secured successful outcomes in both federal and state courts, and successfully defended investigations brought by U.S. Attorneys' Offices, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and offices of state attorneys general. In addition, she has broad experience with alternate dispute resolution and has secured complete victories in arbitration proceedings.
Ms. Bjerke also has experience advising clients on federal and state cybersecurity and data privacy regulations, leading forensic analysis and incident response teams. Additionally, she has developed cybersecurity policies for Fortune 500 companies. Ms. Bjerke has represented clients, including luxury brands, in connection with trade secrets and intellectual property (IP) matters, as well as professional football teams, actors and public relations professionals in the entertainment industry.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Bjerke worked for two national law firms in New York.
While in law school, Ms. Bjerke was a member of the Fordham Moot Court Board, Journal of Corporate and Financial Law, Dispute Resolution Society and Brendan Moore Trial Advocates, and she was named Best Oralist and winner of the I. Maurice Wormser Moot Court Competition. She also received the New York City Mayor's Office Certificate of Recognition and Domestic Violence Action Center Fellowship Award for her work with a nonprofit representing survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Ms. Bjerke also mentored high school students from underserved communities in debate and public speaking.
