Overview

Dayna M. Hutchins is a tax and real estate attorney who represents syndicators and investors in structuring, negotiating and closing equity investments in multifamily housing developments that qualify for federal low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) and other federal, state and local tax incentives. She guides clients through every stage of the investment, from closing through Year 15 exits.

Since joining Holland & Knight in 2005, Dayna has closed hundreds of LIHTC transactions involving complex financing and subsidy arrangements. These include public and private debt structures, tax-exempt bond financings, mixed-income 80/20 projects, and rental and community assistance programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). She works closely with clients to understand their business objectives and structures investments that both produce the projected tax benefits and advance their broader goals.

In addition to her client work, Dayna has served on Holland & Knight's governing committee since 2022 and co-chairs its partnership subcommittee.

Before practicing law, Dayna was a public school teacher and administrator. She taught young children with autism and related disorders and later directed a regional special education program for students with severe disabilities – an experience that informs her commitment to housing that serves vulnerable communities.
