Overview
Katia Sophia Leiva is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Houston office and a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Ms. Leiva focuses her practice on drafting pleadings and motions, as well as discovery management.
Ms. Leiva has more than four years of experience as a law clerk in the immigration field, where she managed hundreds of cases, drafted motions and briefs and corresponded with clients, courts and government officials. She also gained advocacy skills as a public service extern with a New Orleans-based nonprofit.
While in law school, Ms. Leiva served as the senior articles editor of the Tulane Law Review, a student intern with the Tulane Immigrant Rights Clinic and a research assistant for a leading immigration law scholar. Additionally, Ms. Leiva served on the executive board of the Latinx Law Student Association and the Immigration Law Society, and was a member of the Tulane Maritime Law Society.
