Overview
Bhanuka Y. Mahabamunuge is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's New York and Stamford offices. Mr. Mahabamunuge focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts.
Mr. Mahabamunuge represents clients in a broad range of complex disputes, including commercial foreclosure actions, contract and construction disputes, title disputes, financial services litigation, fraud, white collar matters and appellate litigation. He has secured successful outcomes for clients at summary judgment and trial in New York and Connecticut state and federal courts, including on appeal. His experience practicing in both jurisdictions enables him to provide clients with strategic, efficient and effective advocacy tailored to the legal and procedural considerations of each matter.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Mahabamunuge is actively involved in the community, serving as president of the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut and participating in the Connecticut Bar Association's Lawyers in Libraries program.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Mahabamunuge was an attorney in the New York and Stamford offices of an Am Law firm. Before entering private practice, he served as an assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Administration for Children's Services. In this role, he gained extensive trial and litigation experience representing the city.
