Overview

Aly Newton is a business attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office and a member of the firm's Tax Credit Transactions Practice. Ms. Newton practices in the area of business and tax law, where she focuses on transactions financed by the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC), as well as multifamily construction lending.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight as an attorney, Ms. Newton spent two years as a law clerk with the firm's Tax Credit Transactions Practice. Ms. Newton also has experience representing institutional lenders, housing authorities, local community development corporations, and for profit and nonprofit developers engaged in affordable housing transactions and community development.

During law school, Ms. Newton volunteered with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), providing pro bono tax assistance to low-income Boston residents.
