Overview
Veronica Ruiz is a corporate law attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office. Ms. Ruiz focuses her practice on corporate and transactional matters, including general corporate governance.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Ruiz was a summer associate in the firm's New York office, where she gained experience assisting in corporate compliance and tax matters.
While in law school, Ms. Ruiz was a Freedman Institute Social Justice Fellow and a Business Law Fellow. She received the business law honors concentration distinction. Ms. Ruiz also served as a research editor on the Hofstra Law Labor and Employment Law Journal. She participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, where she assisted individuals in preparing their tax forms. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Margo K. Brodie of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Prior to law school, Ms. Ruiz obtained her master's degree in taxation and worked at a Big Four accounting firm, where she gained experience in federal tax compliance specifically for hedge fund and private equity clients in the financial services industry. Ms. Ruiz is a certified public accountant (CPA) licensed in New York.
