Overview

Meghal Shah is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office and is a member of the firm's Tax Credit Transactions Practice. Ms. Shah practices business and tax law, with a concentration in syndicated real estate transactions that qualify for federal low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) and/or federal historic rehabilitation tax credits (HTC). 

Since joining Holland & Knight in 2014, Ms. Shah has advised clients in the structuring and closing of numerous direct and indirect equity investments on behalf of tax credit syndicators and institutional and corporate investors, including several national banks. She has also worked extensively on syndications with multi-tiered debt and equity structures, including mixed-finance programs for public housing, Section 8, and tax-exempt and taxable bond financings. Additionally, she has significant experience in combining renewable energy tax credits and federal and state HTC with federal and state LIHTC. She coordinates all aspects of her transactions, including advice on tax, corporate and real estate matters.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Shah serves on the board of directors of New England Women's Affordable Housing Network Inc. (WAHN) and is a coordinator of Holland & Knight's Boston office's Women's Initiative.

Prior to law school, Ms. Shah was a certified public accountant and an external auditor at PwC in New York, where she served several Fortune 500 companies in the banking and capital markets industries.
