Joshua Sims

Joshua Sims is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Philadelphia office who focuses on real estate capital markets and commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Sims represents financial institutions, special servicers and mezzanine lenders in connection with distressed real estate loans in the exercise of remedies such as receiverships, foreclosures, workouts and related litigation. He also supports a variety of complex commercial real estate and real estate finance matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing transactions, and representing borrowers and lenders in real estate financing transactions.

Having trial team experience in complex commercial matters, Mr. Sims brings a courtroom-tested perspective to the risks and contingencies that shape real estate transactions and draws on his litigation background to anticipate and mitigate potential disputes.

Beyond his practice, Mr. Sims is a dedicated advocate for education and community development. He is involved with nonprofit organizations in Camden, New Jersey, where he writes grants and advises on growth strategies, and he serves as a college advisor who helps students in Camden navigate the college application process.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight as an associate, Mr. Sims was a summer associate in the Philadelphia office.
