Overview

Jonathan I. Sirois is a partner in Holland & Knight's Boston office and is a member of the firm's Tax Credit Transactions Practice Group. Mr. Sirois practices in the areas of business and tax law, with a primary focus in equity financing for affordable housing projects eligible for federal low-income housing tax credits, state and local tax credits, and federal and state historic rehabilitation tax credits. Since joining Holland & Knight in 2004, he has represented lenders, developers, sponsors of affordable housing investments funds, and institutional investors, including national and regional insurance companies, banks and Fortune 500 companies. He has assisted clients in the structuring and closing of numerous direct equity investments, private placements, and guaranteed, credit-enhanced and non-guaranteed proprietary funds. Additionally, he has significant experience combining tax credit equity with HOPE VI and other "mixed finance" programs for public housing, as well as combining renewable energy credits and federal and state historic tax credits with federal and state low-income housing tax credits.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Sirois served as an administrator for the Boston Public Health Commission, assisting in the management of the labor relations, property, finance, human resources and operations departments. Mr. Sirois has also worked as an intern in the Houses of Representatives for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States, and, in 1998, as an intern in the Oval Office Operations and Political Affairs departments of the White House.
