Overview

Wendy Thompson is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Chicago office and practices in the area of tax credit transactions. Her practice focuses on real estate transactions that involve both federal and state low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), as well as other tax incentives, from inception and initial investment through disposition.

Ms. Thompson has experience representing institutional investors in direct investments and in investing through proprietary and multi-investor funds, including transactions that involve the use of a wide variety of private and public financing mechanisms. She also has extensive experience in tax credit fund formation.

Prior to her work representing tax credit investors, Ms. Thompson spent 10 years representing developers of affordable housing projects that involved Hurricane Katrina relief incentives, and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act incentives, among others. In addition, she clerked for the Honorable Rhesa Hawkins Barksdale of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
