The current Mexican government is spearheading an ambitious plan to achieve energy sovereignty, sustainability and self-sufficiency. As a result, the current administration has promulgated two key legislative reforms in the electricity and hydrocarbon sectors, favoring the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX). Most recently, the government has embarked on a series of administrative actions against fuel importers, in an attempt to crack down on alleged tax evasions.
