The Complex Web of Licensing and Multi-Jurisdictional Practice for External Attorney Investigators

Legal Ethics attorney Trisha Rich will join a session titled "The Complex Web of Licensing and Multi-Jurisdictional Practice for External Attorney Investigators" at the 2021 AWI Conference. The session will cover a number of issues that must be addressed when an outside attorney is called to conduct an independent investigation. Panelists will consider the varying laws among states when it comes to conducting third party investigations, as well as the critical structuring of the engagement. They will also discuss the laws governing the unauthorized practice of law and multi-jurisdictional practical as well as the question of whether a factual investigation constitutes legal services.
