Brief Writing

Appellate attorneys Monica Castro and Rebecca Plasencia will participate in an online program hosted by Pincus Professional Education and designed to orient new lawyers to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The two-day event aims to equip attorneys with the knowledge and tools to successfully handle appeals at the Eleventh Circuit, featuring commentary from both counsel and judges. Ms. Castro and Ms. Plasencia will focus on writing successful briefs, from Eleventh Circuit-specific rules and customs to keep in mind to insights on what does (and does not) persuade judges. They will also walk through deciding what to include in a brief, along with general writing strategies.

Partner Christopher Bellows will also speak during the program. His session, "Oral Argument," will follow Ms. Casto and Ms. Plasencia's presentation.
