Tax attorney Joshua Odintz will lead a session during the 17th Annual U.S. and Latin America Tax Practice Trends Conference, hosted by the American Bar Association (ABA) Tax Section. The conference will share insights on tax practice trends relevant for multinational corporations and their tax advisors, in addition to exploring how government tax officials may respond to developments in the international tax landscape that affect corporate taxpayers. Mr. Odintz's panel will take place on the second day of the event and will examine challenges facing Latin American and U.S. investors who want to claim foreign tax credits (FTCs). Speakers will cover issues such as timing mismatches and limitation rules under domestic tax laws. They will also discuss how other countries' tax regimes compare to U.S. FTC regulations, along with provide recommendations on how to structure investments to minimize the risk of double taxation while maintaining compliance. International Tax attorney Eduardo Arista will attend the conference alongside Mr. Odintz.
