Environmental Legal Framework in Mexico

Environmental attorney Claudia García will serve as a speaker for CAINTRA Nuevo León's 2025 Legal Environmental Compliance Workshop. The program consists of a series of modules that aim to strengthen understanding of Mexico's environmental laws and regulations, as well as the requirements for licensing and permitting, procedures for inspections and strategies for compliance. Ms. García will lead the first presentation, where she will provide an introduction to the country's environmental regulatory framework, including the principles of precaution and sustainable development, fines for pollution, in addition to relevant laws such as the Wildlife Law and National Waters Law. She will also talk about federal, state and municipal environmental authorities.
