Space Policy Team Leader Paul Stimers will be presenting a panel titled "New Sheriffs in Space: How Trump's Policy Shift Will Affect American Space Governance" at the 3rd Annual Space Economy Summit. This program will cover the sweeping changes to American space governance under a second Trump Administration, including the revival of the National Space Council, a heightened focus on defense and the acceleration of commercial partnerships. It will explore the strengthened roles of NASA and the U.S. Space Force, as well as the growing emphasis on strategic capabilities such as hypersonics and space-based missile defense. The discussion will also address how an America-first approach is influencing private industry and international collaboration, and examine the implications of pursuing orbital shields and ultra-fast propulsion technologies on the evolving balance between civil exploration and military competition in space.
